Available in Florida up to 6 weeks
The abortion pill is a non-surgical abortion (also known as medication abortion or medical abortion).
It is a SAFE and EFFECTIVE way of ending an early pregnancy in the privacy of your own home.
The combination of medication taken by mouth will stop your pregnancy from growing and will help expel your pregnancy. The abortion pill is 98% effective.

Follow up

HOW TO GET THE ABORTION PILL IN TAMPA
STEP 1
- CALL or fill out the ONLINE REQUEST FORM to schedule an appointment at one of our two Tampa locations
- If you’re unable to pay for your abortion, ask us if you qualify for abortion financial assistance when scheduling your 1st appointment.
- You must have a scheduled appointment before our financial help partner can assist you.
STEP 2
- On the day of your scheduled 1st visit to our clinic, bring government issued ID
(driver’s license, state issued ID card, passport or military ID card) - You’ll pay for your consultation fee for the abortion pill
- After your one-on-one consultation you will take a pregnancy test and ultrasound
- A provider will discuss what you can expect, risks and any complications
STEP 3
- On day 2, your 2nd visit within 24 hours per Florida abortion law you will be given the first medication in the office. This will be taken by mouth.
- You will receive the remaining medication and instructions that you will take at home

How safe is the abortion pill?
The FDA, which has tested it for both safety and effectiveness, and has approved the medication. In the past decade, almost 700,000 women in Europe have safely used the abortion pill to end their pregnancies. It is now approved for use in more than 23 countries.
It is 98% effective.
What are some of the symptoms?
May experience bleeding and cramping. The bleeding can be heavier than a normal period and usually lasts from 9-16 days.
Your provider will instruct you on how to handle any pain, nausea, headache, vomiting, or diarrhea that could also occur.
What if the abortion pill doesn't work?
In the unlikely event that you are still pregnant, you may need another dose of medicine or to have an in-clinic abortion to end the pregnancy. We are able to provide surgical abortion care up to 15 weeks in the state of Florida.
May I bring someone with me?
For the privacy and safety of everyone we ask that you come alone. Please do not bring children with you.
What if I am under 18 years of age?
According to Florida State Law, if you are under 18 years old you will need parental consent to have an abortion or seek a judicial bypass.
If you are unable to obtain parental consent, you are able to request a court order from your local courthouse.
If the judge believes in your ability to make this mature decision on your own, he/she may issue a judicial bypass to you.
Whether it may be to protect your privacy, or informing your parents is not in your best interests, minors have the right to receive a judicial bypass to have an abortion without informing a parental guardian.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, debit cards, and credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover and American Express). No personal checks. No Apple Pay.
Can I get financial help to pay for my abortion?
Although we are not able to provide direct financial help, our offices have done an extraordinary job of keeping the cost accessible to most women. Once you make an appointment with us, we can connect you with a local and/or national fund network that might be able to help you with the cost of your abortion and/or travel.
I'm on Medicaid. Will that program pay for my abortion?
Medicaid will not pay for abortions in the State of Florida. However, we are able to see if you qualify for any financial assistance through the National Abortion Federation (NAF).
